This design is so creative, I love the way you interpreted the ears! They look like jet engines haha

Your understanding of shape and form is so amazing!

GRIS9 responds:

Thank you! ^^

Cute art as always! Love the color palette here
BTW I saw that you got banned on Art Fight, what happened?

Sony-Shock responds:

Thank you very much! I used a 'Color' adjustment layer to fix the colors at the end. It helped a lot!

About the ban, I haven't been given details yet so I have as much info on it as anybody. As a matter of fact, I learned of it when I saw a buddy telling me in Discord!

I sure do hope your brain is happy with the new bug girl 'cause I sure am

KnebulaNight responds:

My brain is 100% happy with her, yes

Looks amazing as always! Man, I really don't understand how you're able to draw so many pieces every day, I can barely draw once a week. What keeps you motivated?

Sony-Shock responds:

Money! These last ones are commissions... Hehe

Not really, though. Considering I often forget to actually invoice my commissioners! (I'm lucky all of them are so noble). I'd say it's mostly inertia! I just have been drawing for very long and drawing is my main hobby as well as my job, so it comes naturally. It's what I do by default.

But even sometimes I don't feel like drawing so I can't say that is all. Actually, further advice (and ways to get to that level of inertia too) I'd say: Aim to the impossible task of putting into art all the cool images that cross your mind. Do you like it? Then don't lose time, don't think too much about it, draw it! ... If possible, of course. Quantity over quality! Although you should still try, of course.

Also references (for both lines and light) really help ease your mind. Sometimes a hard part of drawing is that we force ourselves to draw things well when truth is we just don't know how they're meant to look in the first place! On that subject, I advice MagicPoser. It's a phone app, but they made a browser version too and it's GREAT.

As a last tip: If you want to do groups of images, sketching a lot of pictures one day and finishing them later can be a surprisingly effective way to get a lot of stuff done. Doing a picture from start to finish can be more tiring than doing a lot of sketches (or a lot of lineart, or any other stage). I imagine it's because it gives you a feel of closure, so you will feel starting a whole new picture is a chore.

Sorry for the textwall! I hope it's useful?

Wow, fantastic artwork! Really love the color pallette you used

Incredible! I loved how you used bright pastel colors but still managed to make him look intimidating!

Sony-Shock responds:

Thank you very much! <3

I can't use non-pastels to save my life, I must adapt 8P

Why does everything you draw look so perfect? The color palette you choose always go flawlessly together and every drawing has an interesting pose expression.

Although something I'd recommend is maybe change up the composition a little and try more extreme angles. I think that all you artworks have the same composition, maybe try zooming out more to show the background? Of course, the main focus is the character so I get why you draw it like that. Anyways, keep up the good work! Love seeing you on my dashboard!

Sony-Shock responds:

Awww, you're too kind! Thank you very much! I feel only now I'm starting to understand how to use color as I want, tho... I have some to learnt still

And about the composition advice, you are absolutely right! I remember back in Art bachelor studies, one teacher mentioned all my compositions are very circular. Interest points lay in the middle and everything around it is so evenly distributed.

In this case it is meant to be a quick art (literally for daily posting), but your advice really applies. I also think I might abuse full body pictures, which I think might limit me~ I think I have a big problem with cutting characters, I feel like the pic is not worth if I did not go full on representation, which is silly. I definitely want to make different compositions and experiment a little. I'm already starting to do it, but I confess habits are hard to break... And also I am just not very imaginative with them @v@

Thank you very much! I love in-depth critiques like this!

Fantastic artwork, the emotions are subtle but strong here. It truly embodies how I feel about the Smash Direct. 10/10
